Larry Turner is a freelance photographer/writer based in his hometown of Malin,Oregon. He has lived in Mexico, Texas, Tennessee, Idaho, Colorado and Nevada. He has made a living with his craft since the 1970s. His photography calendar work appears around the globe, primarily through Browntrout Publishers and Avalanche Publishing. These images include: Gardens, Mexico, Tractors, Carolina Places, Quebec City, Rainbows, Cowboys, Barns, Country Churches, Lighthouses, Wild and Scenic British Columbia, Italy, Real Buckaroos, Extreme Sports, Skiing and numerous others. He is one of two staff photographers for award winning Range Magazine. His work has appeared in National Geographic Traveler, Gourmet, Travel and Leisure, American Heritage, Sunset, Friendly Exchange and other publications. Book credits include Mount Shasta Reflections, Portrait of the West and The Romance and Reality of Ranching. He is a member of the Grant Heilman Stock Agency. His images were recently used to select the new Levi Strauss cowboy Rocky Rains. Turner was the subject of the Oregon Public Broadcasting documentary Shooting the West. Turner is an active member of the North American Snowsport Journalist Association. He is represented by several galleries in Oregon and California.
